I have to admit, when I first heard about it, I was skeptical. However, it does appear to be a brilliant and beautiful piece of engineering. I regret not getting one, as you predicted. I'm still slightly skeptical that what third world kids need is a laptop, but I think part of that was that I assumed the laptop would be similar to those American kids use to remain incredibly stupid. This OLPC seems like it's well designed for learning, and badly designed for wasting time. I like that. Perhaps the XO laptop should be the only computer we allow American kids to have. You want facebook, Danny? Write it in Python yourself or go outside.
